Stephen K. Bannon has a new movie. It’s called “Fire from the Heartland.” In this movie Bannon showcases the fired up Sarah Palins, Michelle Malkins and Ann Coulters of the conservative movement. Spoiler alert! They’re mad as hell and they’re not going to take this anymore. By “this,” I mean President Barack Obama and other Democrats winning elections and governing.
But who is Bannon? He directed this movie, as well as, “In the Face of Evil” and “Generation Zero.”
The trailer for “Fire from the Heartland,” states that he’s an award-winning director.
While his film “Generation Zero” won Best Documentary at the Liberty Film Festival. The Liberty Film Festival was setup to give awards to right-wing filmmakers.
But who is this guy?
Well, according to his bio published for the “In the Face of Evil” film Web site, “Mr. Bannon has spent 15 years in media investment banking and film financing. A former Goldman Sachs banker, he formed his own firm and sold it to in 1998.”
And before that, from 1976 to 1983, Bannon served as a “surface warfare officer” in the US Navy. He spent four years onboard the USS Paul F. Foster, according to his bio. After his sea duty was over, Bannon served as the special assistant to the chief of naval operations in the Pentagon during Reagan’s first term.
So that’s Bannon as for as I can tell, there isn’t much available on the man.
He started out as a Navy officer, then he worked at Goldman Sachs from 1984 to 1990 as a Mergers and Acquisitions Investment Banker, and then he setup his own firm called Bannon & Company, which was sold in 1998.
Since 2005, Bannon has been the director and chairman of the board of Genius Products, Inc. Genius Products, also known as Genius Entertainment, is an entertainment company.
It appears that it was in the early 2000s when Bannon started to get involved in the film and entertainment industries. From April 2002 to December 2003, he served as head, strategic advisory services for The Firm, which is a talent and management company in the entertainment and media industries.
And now Bannon makes right-wing propaganda films with producer David Bossie for Citizens United, such as his latest creation “Fire from the Heartland.” Bossie is the president of Citizens United.
UPDATE: Bannon took over Breitbart “the platform for the alt-right” News when Andrew Breitbart died in 2012. In 2016, he was the campaign manager for the Donald Trump for President campaign, which he won. As of November 13, 2016 has been tapped by Trump to be his senior counselor and chief West Wing strategist. In January, Bannon will be one of the most powerful people in the world.
