If Alfred Peet’s goal in 1966 was to create a chain of coffee shops serving mediocre coffee, Peet has succeeded.
I always thought Peet’s was just a little bit better than Starbucks, but it’s actually worse than Starbucks. I just moved to a new area, and so I don’t know where the good coffee shops are located, and I so I’ve come to this Peet’s location twice now.
The people that work here are really nice and super professional. But the problem is that they don’t seem to be very interested in what it takes to make good coffee.
The concept of being a great barista and making awesome coffee beverages isn’t really happening here, but maybe it’s not supposed to be happening here.
