GOP Hatchetman Says Media Matters Researchers Should be ‘Curbstomped’

Rick Wilson is a GOP attack dog. He’s the guy that produced the ad linking then-Senator Max Cleland (D-GA) to Osama bin Laden in 2002. Unlike Wilson, Cleland is a decorated Vietnam war veteran who was awarded a Silver Star and a Bronze Star for valorous action in combat, but that didn’t stop Wilson from using bin Laden’s image in a Saxby Chambliss ad against Cleland. Well now, the GOP hitman has set his sights on Media Matters for America researchers.

“Aside from the fact a gentleman doesn’t hit women, explain to me why the MMFA boys don’t get curbstomped fortnightly?,” Wilson tweeted on Sept. 2, 2010.

What got Wilson’s panties in a wad is a story on debunking the claims made in this Sharron Angle ad that he produced. is a Media Matters for America Web site.

Wilson’s response is that Media Matters researchers should be violently murdered via “curbstomping.” I’m not going to describe what a curb-stomp is, because it’s just too disgusting, but if you’re interested, you can learn more about it here.

This type of violent rhetoric has no place in our democracy, and people like Rick Wilson should be ostracized and run out of the political mainstream.
