At a shareholder meeting, Murdoch was asked to explain these expenditures.
“In these two donations that you’re speaking of we judged it to be in the best interests of the company; it had nothing to do with the editorial policies or the journalism, or the films or anything else,” Murdoch told shareholders.
One shareholder asked, “Could you just take a moment and explain how you believed it to be in the best interest? How you believe it would further …”
Murdoch chimed in, “We believed it is in the interests … it’s certainly in the interests of the country and of all the shareholders” that a “degree of, a fair amount of change in Washington.”
He’s an Australian USA Tea Party patriot for freedom, free markets, liberty and justice for all, and peace and prosperity and apple pie.
And when Murdoch was asked by a shareholder if they could be allowed to have some say in how the corporation spends its money politically, he said, “No. Sorry, you have the right to vote us off the board if you don’t like it.”
So Murdoch will not allow shareholders any say in how the board spends their money, and he said they will not disclose where the board is spending its money politically. As one shareholder pointed out, the only reason anyone ever found out about the $1 million that went to the US Chamber of Commerce was because of an anonymous leak.
Ok, so can we all agree that Fox News is not a news organization?
It has never been a news organization and it never will be a news organization. Fox News is part of the political machinery controlled by Murdoch to further the agenda of corporate interests in America – period.
There is not a single shred of evidence to support any argument that Fox News is nothing more than a propaganda apparatus for the GOP, and the wealthiest of wealthy Americans the party represents. That’s it, if you don’t know that by now, you just aren’t paying attention, you don’t care or you’re just really really dumb.
