Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli wants to be governor of the Commonwealth.
He’s running against Democrat Terry McAuliffe.
McAuliffe, the former head of the Democratic National Committee, has agreed to the debate proposed by the AARP Virginia and League of Women Voters.
When asked by a reporter why Cuccinelli declined the debate invitation.
“Oh, the left wing, stacked debate,” Cuccinelli said. “Well, you’ve got MSNBC as the proposed folks running it.”
HamptonRoads.com reported that the debate is scheduled for October 14, and that it’s a tradition in statewide Virginia races.
The host of the debate was to be CBS This Morning host Norah O’Donnell. O’Donnell used to work for MSNBC.
